Atty. Monzon obtained her Juris Doctor Degree from Ateneo de Manila University in 2016. She obtained her Bachelor of Secondary Education Degree (Major in Communication Arts – English, Minor in Journalism) from the University of the Philippines – Diliman in 2009.
Before joining the Firm, Atty. Monzon was a Senior Associate in the International Tax Services Division of Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. (SGV), and has advised on tax-efficient methods and availment of incentives for foreign investments.
Atty. Monzon has extensive experience in litigation and has handled a broad range of disputes, such as those involving large-scale land development, debt collection, and energy. She also handles criminal cases arising from commercial disputes, such as those involving securities laws and trust receipts.
Apart from appearing before regular courts, she has also appeared extensively before special courts such as the Sandiganbayan, and quasi-judicial tribunals, such as the Energy Regulatory Commission, on behalf of power generators and producers.
Atty. Monzon also handles intellectual property matters, including registrations for and the maintenance of trademarks, both for clients of the firm and in collaboration with the firm’s partners in the Southeast Asia region.
